What data we store
We store your Google email, your Google name and picture, the display name you edit yourself, your current belt, your interface language, and your session history: Taigi numbers, scores, and dates.
How we use your data
Account data is used only to run the app: syncing across devices and your personal statistics. To understand how the app is used, we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) — but only if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner.
Strictly necessary cookies
We use the authjs.session-token cookie, strictly necessary for sign-in. Signing in also sets authjs.callback-url, authjs.csrf-token, and — while the Google flow is in progress — authjs.pkce.code_verifier. Over HTTPS they carry prefixes: __Secure-authjs.session-token, __Secure-authjs.callback-url, __Secure-authjs.pkce.code_verifier, and the stricter __Host-authjs.csrf-token. None of them can be disabled.We also use the NEXT_LOCALE cookie to remember the language you chose. It lasts one year and is set when you use the language switcher, when you accept the language hint, or from the language saved on your account when you sign in on a new device — never guessed from your browser settings. If you're signed in, that choice is also saved on your account so it follows you to another device. As an interface-personalisation cookie it's exempt from consent, but we list it here next to the session cookie for transparency. It does not go through the analytics consent below.
Analytics cookies (optional)
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to see how the app is used. They're blocked by default under Google Consent Mode v2 and only turn on if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can reject everything or enable only analytics from "Preferences". To change your choice later, clear the site's cookies and the banner will reappear.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data until you delete your account from your account page. After deletion, all your data disappears immediately and permanently.
Your rights
You can edit your display name and current belt in the app. To delete your account, use the “Delete account” button. For any other request, write to cristian.filimon.13@gmail.com.
Hosting
The app runs self-hosted at taigi.kiaikido.org.nz. Account data is stored exclusively on our own server. The only exception is usage data sent to Google Analytics, and only if you accept analytics cookies.
